Why Old Habits Needs to Be Discovered to Pave the Road for Success

January 5, 2017 by oatsandrows

Have you tried to make positive changes to your fitness and nutrition in the past, only to start out great, and then lose steam after a couple weeks?  Have you tried implementing new ways to eat healthier and get your workouts in, but later revert back to your old habits?  In my New Year Kickoff Online Boot Camp, one key framework you will complete is uncovering what roadblocks kept you from being successful in the past.   But why does that matter?

Health and fitness are not the same for each person.  Health and fitness mean different things for different people.  For example, working out 3 times a week may be enough for one person, where working out 3 times a week may be considered an “off” week to someone else.  When implementing new strategies to make your health and fitness routine less of a routine and more of a lifestyle, those strategies must be directly related to your “roadblocks”, or what has prevented you from reaching your goals in the past.

The key to making your health and fitness routine less of a routine and more of a LIFESTYLE #healthcoaching #fitfluential #personaltraining

One of the most common roadblocks I help clients over come is TIME.

For some people, they cannot get up in the morning to get their workout done.  On the other hand, some people will not work out later in the day due to schedule conflicts, lack of interest, whatever it may be.  For some people, there can be a combination of both – if the workout does not happen in the morning, the rest of the day is spent thinking of excuses to get out of the workout or simply life gets in the way.

It takes figuring out WHAT the problem areas are in your routine and facing them to then overcome them.  Using your old habits to reform new ones are KEY to making health and fitness part of your everyday and truly making it a lifestyle.  It is super easy to let the struggles, tasks, and schedules of our day to day lives push our own health and wellness onto the back burner.  It is imperative to bring your health and wellness front and center and overcoming the obstacles of your “roadblocks” and using them in your favorite to turn them into attainable, realistic, and healthy habits.

If you don’t know what doesn’t work for you, you won’t be able to figure out what DOES work for you. In my New Year Kickstart 6-week online Boot Camp, participants will be meeting with me for weekly health coaching sessions where we will discuss any obstacles and roadblocks and how to overcome them.

If you are interested in more information about this 6-week New Year Kickstart Online Boot Camp, please leave your email in the comments or email me directly at oatsandrows AT gmail DOT COM.
