Hi friends! I had my first Micro test Monday night, so studying for that pretty much consumed my life for the past 2 weeks. Thankfully, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. Hopefully my grade reflects my confidence!
Since it’s been a while and I don’t have any content lined up for this week, I thought I’d do a “Day in the Life” post. I don’t know what it is, but I love reading other people’s WIAW and Day in the Life posts. I love finding new recipes/snack ideas through WIAW and I always enjoy reading about different people/family’s day-to-day living.
I also get a lot of questions from family, friends, and random people about what I do at work. Some people think I fold towels all day, some people think I work out all day (my grandma thought that’s what I did!), and with being a somewhat newer blogger, I figured this may help you get to know me a little better too. This was my day yesterday:
6:10am– Alarm goes off. Wake up with a splitting headache so I hit snooze until about 6:45.
6:45am– Turn my alarm off. Try and wake up by checking emails, scrolling through Instagram, Facebook, and SnapChat. Still feeling like I was hit in the head with a hammer..not fun.
6:50am– I went to bed with an idea of what I wanted to do in my morning class, but I lay in bed as I type it up on my phone. I also lay in bed a little longer…
7:05am– Get up. Feed Winston while I brew a cup of coffee, then I get dressed and brush my teeth. Hair is still in a tightly wrapped bun, so I roll with it.
7:16am– Let Winston out real quick!
7:24am– Get in the car with my cup of coffee and head to teach my Cardio Sculpt class.
7:31am– Arrive and one of the class participants has set up our equipment. The workout class is in a classroom in a church’s school, and we keep our equipment in a little cabinet, and whoever is there first usually sets it up for everyone.
7:35am– Everyone has finished trickling in and class begins! It’s a pretty laid-back environment…the class only has 8 people (if everyone comes)
8:30am– Class ends and we all chat as we walk out to our cars. I love this group!
(old photo- and not everyone is in it!)
8:42am– Arrive back at home. I text my friend Jennifer if she wants to go on a walk with me and Winston. We go on a walk for about 30 minutes. It was freezing!
9:20am– Head to the bank to deposit a check. Thankfully, headache has disappeared!
9:30am– Bank is conveniently located across the street from Whole Foods, so I mosey on over there for an almond milk cappuccino.
Saw this jar of almond butter while browsing and was SHOCKED! Obviously, I just had to Snap it.
10:05am– Happen to leave WF with not just a cappuccino, but also kombucha, eggs, black bean hummus, sugar-less sunflower seed butter, and other things I can’t even remember. Way to go, Sara.
10:18am– Get home and unload my bags. I realize I still haven’t eaten breakfast, so I whip up 2 fried eggs in coconut oil, topped with salsa and sautéed plantain slices.
10:25am– Clean out some stuff out of the fridge, and begin to prep my lunch for the day. Decide to go with a mushroom/green bean stir-fry, rice, and a salmon burger from TJs. Make enough for lunch today and lunch tomorrow. I then clean the kitchen: unload+load the dishwasher, wipe down counter and stove, and Swiffer the kitchen and living room floors.
11:10am– Turn on my computer real quick to check out some potential apartments. I am moving in May! I also check my Bloglovin’ feed and soon sadly realize that I don’t have much time to read any posts.
11:35am– Pack my lunch up, changes clothes, and love on Winston before I leave for work.
11:50am– SO LATE FOR WORK.
12:06am– Arrive at work. Chat with co-workers and members. Teach my boss how to use the Snapchat filters. Do some admin work.
1:45am– Prep for an afternoon of meetings. We are doing a weight loss challenge, so I prep the forms/waivers, grab the Tanita scale, make a cup of black mango tea, and head to the conference room to meet with my team.
2:00pm– First appointment shows up. I have 9 more appointments between 2:00 and 4:30. Realize I have no time to eat lunch, so I snack on Roots black bean hummus and carrots when I have a free second between meetings.
4:45pm– Teach Pilates Sculpt. It was a slow day, and I only had one person show up.
5:30pm– Class is over and I snack on a banana with almond butter. Dying of hunger at this point, but somehow tough it out. I work on some email drafts to clients, work on membership, and other admin stuff for the program. Chat with members as they come in and out!
6:30pm– Ready to teach my Cardio Pump class and no one shows up! I work at a financial company, so with it being the start of tax season, people are slowly starting to fall off the wagon. I continue to work on my admin stuff, catch up on a few blog posts, and chat with members until I am done.
8:00pm– Done with work for the day! I call my mom on the way home.
8:20pm– Arrive home and immediately walk Winston. My roommate let him out of the crate but he still needed to go for a walk.
8:35pm– Come back from the walk, pour myself a glass of wine, and reheat the food I made earlier in the day. Since I didn’t get to eat it for lunch yesterday, I left that container at work so my lunch is already there for me today.
8:40pm– I chat with my roommate and our friend who lives upstairs. I play with Winston once I am finished eating.
8:55pm– I hop in the shower and do some random stuff around my room.
9:25pm– Get in bed and start this blog post. I flip through some light reading:
10:15pm- Read more of my Bloglovin’ feed and brainstorm my class for Wednesday morning.
10:32pm- Go to bed.
Questions-
What does a typical day look like for you? Is it usually the same or does it vary?
What’s the most you’ve ever spent on a nut butter?
How do you make time for yourself during the work week?

February 10, 2016 at 9:15 AMLove this! You need to do more “Day in the Life” posts 🙂 Also, you inspired me to start eating “cleaner” likkeeeeeee ASAP. Giselle for Miami, ya know what I’m saying? Holy moly on that nut butter price. I think I spent $8 on nut butter once and weeped at the cash register. Thank the lord for Aldi. My work days are typically the same, but am trying to have more “me” time on the weekends! Let’s OrangeTheory soon please, this gal needs a booty hurting!

February 10, 2016 at 3:44 PMI love day in the life posts so much too! I think it’s cool to read how different people’s schedules are. My days are generally similar but can vary a lot too. Working in real estate there’s sometimes nights and weekend work to be done but I don’t mind it at all. Omg and I literally can’t bring myself to spend more than like $6 or $7 on peanut/nut butter hahah it’s insane how expensive they can get!

February 10, 2016 at 7:43 PMI hope that’s a typo for that nut butter price! I thought it was bad here paying around $12ish dollars for almond butter! Golllllllllllllllllyyyy!
I feel like I never get enough time to read blog posts lately – I’m so behind on what’s happening in the blog world because I’m lucky if I get half an hour a week to play catch up!
My days change from day to day, however, lately it’s been pretty similar as I’ve had so many meetings/training courses to run in the city so generally it’s wake up, eat breakfast, workout, quickly get ready and then I’m out the door to walk to the train station, catch a train into the city and then rush around there for the day before heading back home in time to make dinner!
