I cannot believe how quickly this week went by! I had every intention about doing a weekend recap post and then *poof* ..here we are.
Is it just me or is anyone else reading SO ready for football season to be over?? I mean, I like football, but I am soooooo sick of hearing about it. My friend Meig and I and some friends are going to hang out for the Superbowl. While everyone else is celebrating the bowl, I’ll be celebrating the end of the season. 🙂
Here are this week’s favorites – have a great weekend!
Food Psych Podcast with Christy Harrison
You may think I am jumping the gun on this one, but I am confident I am not. I’ve listened to ONE episode of Christy Harrison’s Food Psych podcast and I. AM. OBSESSED. Christy is an anti-diet dietitian and certified intuitive eating counselor. Her podcast is about intuitive eating, Health at Every Size (HAES),helping people restore their lives and take back their lives dieting stole from them, thin privilege, body image, and more. I think everyone, whether you eat intuitively or you are pretty black and white when it comes to health and nutrition, can benefit from listening to this podcast.
New Favorite Roasted Veggie: Red Onions
A couple weeks ago, I tried this sheet pan chicken recipe, which was TO DIE FOR. The flavor of this sauce was uuuunreal, but I was also blown away by the roasted red onion the recipe called for. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten a cooked red onion before. Is that weird? Well, it’s now my go-to side to pair with my protein at dinner. If you haven’t tried a red onion roasted, you should totally do it.
Mother/Daughter Weekend
Last weekend, my mom came into town for a girls weekend. To fly from Florida to Charlotte on Allegiant, it’s so cheap. Her roundtrip flight with pre-paid bag check was $81! We went shopping, got pedicures, and tried a bunch of new restaurants. Our favorite from the weekend was The Loyalist Market, a new cheese and charcuterie bar in downtown Matthews.
It was really nice to have her come into town. Sometimes you just need your mom!
The Best Starbucks Hack
I don’t think this actually made it to my Instagram stories (oops!). I LOOVE lattes because I run best on espresso, but to save money and still get my fix, I’ve been cheating the system. I order 2-3 shots in a larger cup then add my own almond milk. I save about $3-4!
Your turn –
What’s your Starbucks order?
Have you ever tried roasted red onions? What’s your favorite roasted vegetable?
