I feel ya, Winston. We’re almost there! The weekend is oh so close.
It’s been a while since I’ve posted (last Friday feels like an eternity ago) so I figured I’d just ramble a little more than I usually do. 😉
It was so great to see family and friends over the weekend. I flew into DC and took the Metro to my dear friend Lissy’s new pad in the Logan Circle area. Our other friend, Rachel, came over too and we hung out on her adorable porch while we drank wine and caught up.
On Saturday, my family and I went to a seafood place in Baltimore to get crabs. Every time I visit home and my mom asks what I want to do, I always say ‘get crabs’. Last time I was home, we just didn’t have the time to go, so I was super excited to get my hands on some this time around. Can’t you tell I’m from Maryland??
The rest of the day was spent hanging with my parents. I won’t be able to make it back home for a visit before Christmas, so I really wanted to soak up the quality time. The weekend definitely went by too quickly!
How do you like the new design?? I’m totally completely madly in love with the new layout of my site. Julie from Deluxe Designs worked her sweet, sweet magic on this thing and I am so happy with what she created!
This space. I feel like I’ve been lacking quality content recently. I’ve just had so much on my mind lately with work, traveling, CNA course starting up, and so on, so I’ve been putting some posts on the back burner. No more excuses.
I have a bajillion posts (approximately) in my draft box just waiting to be perfected and published. But, I am still in that stage where I am a new-ish blogger so I don’t feel like I am up to par with the rest. I know, I know, I shouldn’t compare myself, but it’s hard not to when you’re in the early learning stages. I am not sure if I will ever be fully calm when I hit publish. I seem to find myself second guessing my content, freaking out making sure I made any necessary edits, etc. I am that person at work who has other people read their emails before sending them out. Talk about anxiety haha!
Free CrossFit. This weekend, my co-worker and I will be trying out a free beginner CrossFit class at Ultimate CrossFit. I am excited to try it out since it is one of the formats I haven’t tried yet!
I’ve been working on my photography. This is something that’s contributed to my hesitation with posting some posts, but I’ve been working with a co-worker who does photography on the side to help me get used to my DSLR and more familiar with Lightroom and Photoshop. He’s seriously been a LIFESAVER. The first time I opened Lightroom I said “yeaaahno” and closed it. Now I feel much more comfortable with it and am excited to edit some 34 Degrees and Charleston photos I have!
Questions: Share something random with me! For bloggers, do you ever get hesitant and “shy” when it comes to posting? What’s your favorite thing to do with friends? What’s the last trip you went on?

September 24, 2015 at 8:51 AMWere you at Nick’s Fish House? (I think I recognize the bridge behind you). Its been awhile since I have been there but its a great place!
I definitely get nervous about publishing certain things, but usually those posts are what ends up getting the most (usually) positive feedback!

September 24, 2015 at 11:10 AMLOVE the new site design! And I’m right there with you – sometimes I hesitate posting “deep” posts because I’m not totally at the same level as everyone else. But I think I’m going to try to put my fears behind me and make that jump! 🙂 Hope you have a fabulous Thursday girl!

September 24, 2015 at 12:05 PMI always struggle with hitting the “post” button, no matter how light-hearted or heavy the post is. Partly it’s because I know my family and friends read my blog, but also anyone on the internet could read my words! It’s good to know other bloggers struggle with it too.

September 24, 2015 at 3:10 PMIt is so nice that you get to spend time with your family and eat crabs!!!! I am new to blogging too. I sit for hours trying to figure out what to post, but I do the best I can. I should be actually getting a computer this weekend. Right now I am using an IPAD. Thanks
